New Midland Sports Facility Coming Soon!

  • 4.1 Acres, More or Less, Located on the Northeast Side of the Scharbauer Sports Complex

  • City-owned Land Will Be Leased to Mas Under the Following Terms:

  • $1.00/year

  • 49-year Term

  • 25-year Extension

The lease provides for a 49-year term (the "Initial Term"), then provides MAS the option for two renewal terms of Twenty -Five years (the "Secondary Term" and the "Final Term"). Upon expiration of the Initial Term, MAS can opt into the Secondary Term. Upon expiration of the Secondary Term, MAS can opt into the Final Term, effectively creating a 99-year lease.

Design

  • MAS Has Engaged Jacob Martin, an Engineering Firm Located in Abilene, Texas, to Design the Facility

  • Jacob Martin Designed and Built the Dodge Jones Sports Complex in Abilene

  • The Dodge Jones Sports Complex is a First-class Facility and Has Served as an Inspiration Piece for MAS

Parking

MAS will enter into a shared parking agreement with the City of Midland to use existing Scharbauer Sports Complex parking.

Building

  • 115,000 Square Feet

  • Includes Six (6) Full-size Basketball Courts That Can Convert to Twelve (12) Full-size Volleyball Courts and One (1) 5v5 Indoor Soccer Arena That Can Also Be Used as Multi-sport Turf Space

  • The Facility Will Also Provide for Male and Female Restrooms/locker Rooms, Concessions Sales, Staff Space/office, Sufficient Spectator Seating, and Flex Space/rooms for Meetings and Education
